The CYA Buzz Is Growing!

For years, the CYA Weekly Buzz has helped keep our community informed.

Each issue brings together registration reminders, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, local programs and everything else families need to know about CYA sports. It has also become a place where community organizations, local businesses and CYA members can share information that might otherwise be missed.

Now, the Buzz is growing.

CYA Buzz is coming to The Sideline as its own recurring segment.

Why Bring the Buzz to The Sideline?

The CYA Weekly Buzz already does a great job of putting important information directly in front of CYA families. However, the way people find and consume information continues to change.

Some people read every email. Others are more likely to watch a quick video, listen during their drive or discover an update through social media.

Bringing CYA Buzz to The Sideline gives us another way to reach those families without taking anything away from the newsletter that already serves our community.

The goal is simple. If something important is happening around CYA, we want to make it easier for people to hear about it.

More Than Reading Announcements

CYA Buzz will not simply be someone sitting behind a microphone reading a list of dates.

We want to provide the context behind the updates.

Why is a new program being introduced? Who are the volunteers making an event possible? What should parents know before registration opens? Where can an athlete find another opportunity to play, train or get involved?

Those are the questions we want this segment to help answer.

It also gives us more room to recognize the people behind CYA. Our programs depend on coaches, coordinators, volunteers, partners and families who put in hours of work that most people never get to see. CYA Buzz gives us another place to tell their stories.

What You Can Expect

CYA Buzz will cover topics such as:

CYA registration and program updates

Camps, clinics, evaluations and tryouts

Community events and fundraising opportunities

Volunteer needs

CYA athlete, coach and team achievements

Updates from individual CYA sports

News from the CYA Fieldhouse

Local organizations and businesses supporting our community

Some updates may be quick. Others may lead to larger conversations or full episodes of The Sideline.

That is part of what makes this expansion exciting. A short announcement can introduce a family to a new sport, help a program find another volunteer or give an athlete the recognition they deserve.

The Buzz Still Depends on You

The CYA Buzz has always relied on information and stories from the community. That will not change.

If your team accomplished something special, your program has an important update or you know about a story that would benefit CYA families, let us know. Submissions can continue to be sent to [email protected].

The more our community contributes, the more useful CYA Buzz becomes.

This is not a new direction for the Buzz. It is simply the next step.

The newsletter will continue helping CYA families stay informed. The new Sideline segment will give those same stories another place to be seen, heard and shared.

The CYA Buzz is growing, and we cannot wait to bring more of our community onto The Sideline.
